This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The location is just perfect (if you like remote, rural places), it's not only right on the banks of Loch Ness, it's also very close to a hiking trail. The atmosphere is just brilliant, there are various activities every evening, like a bonfire (with music and singing), beer pong, pub quiz and other fun things. I'm a bit gutted I couldn't go for a dip in the loch, but will make sure next time I do. Because of the remote location and the activities, you easily get to know other travellers, it's got to be one of the best places to make friends. You can buy food and drinks at the reception, so even without "going back to civilisation" you can easily survive here. The breakfast is basic, but very good. The staff - most of them were volunteers - was excellent. The whole place was spotless, every one was very friendly and helpful, and you could just tell that they loved to be there. This hostel has a heart and soul like few others. It is not only great value for money, it is also great value for your time.

Beautiful setting. No town around it, just the loch, close enough to dip your toes in. Cozy and warm, all I needed. Surprisingly lively for November, even if I was on the fringes, being older than everyone else in the place combined. Over 16 clearly means just over, lol

Great staff, great atmosphere, cool activities, f.e. Scottish folk dancing. If you're near Loch Ness I'd recommend staying here, even if only for one night.

Lake front, very social with chill events on in the evenings. Guests were all ages and a fully equipped kitchen.

The room had its own bathroom and shower which was great - they were super clean as well with fantastic water pressure. The beds were comfy, each had its own charging port too. Well worth the money! The kitchen had everything you’d need. The living room area felt like home. Super social and would be amazing for making friends!

The best hostel I’ve ever stayed in after visiting 37 countries! The volunteer atmosphere was incredible, and everyone I met was so friendly and welcoming. The nights spent with the hostel volunteer team and fellow travelers brought back memories of my teenage years – it was an absolute blast! Card games, beer pong, and morning swims in the Ness made for an unforgettable experience. I’m still in a hangover from all the fun! Huge thanks to Ely, Kristy, Nico, Leo, Tara, Tina, and the other amazing volunteers whose names I don’t remember. Grateful to Ely for the morning swim and to Nico for being my winning beer pong partner. Highly recommend!”

It's probably the best hostel kitchen I have ever used and seen. Plently of pots, pans, and cooking trays. There's even some communal herbs and spices to use. Ovens and stove stop aplenty. They also have some cup noodles and bits like that to buy on site. They do offer laundry service. Right on the loch if you are brave enough to swim and a beautiful location. Good atmosphere, clean and nice staff/volunteers.

It was nice because there are a lot of backpackers and they are all nice and friendly, they organized a billiards competition. We stayed only one night.

The location couldn't have been better. It was wow! I was really impressed by the staff's work ethic and friendliness even to someone old enough to be their grandmother. Also the music playing in the background was great.

Amazing location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, good bedding, great necessities in the kitchen. The social events were fun, and surprisingly quiet at night so could rest well. Very young, social vibe. Everything was great.
