Lukasz “Lovely Pousada but please invest in new air conditioning units”

Lovely Pousada. Location a bit uphill but this makes it very peaceful. Staff very helpful and owner went out of his way to help us with whatever to make our stay perfect. View from balcony amazing and overlooking the mainland and ocean. Room was small and basic, but was ok for our stay. Only thing missing was a safe, but there is one at the reception. Why I did not give a higher score is the air conditioning in the room. It was an old unit that was very noisy. We could not use it at night and this is when we needed it the most :( I would recommend to double check which rooms have the new units before you book. Apart from that, we loved every minute and would like to thank the owner for helping us organise transport from Rio to the island and to Paraty.

The friendly care the owner & staff provided. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. I had an open wound that got infected & they found me the right doctor on land. Nothing was too much trouble.

Aratinga Inn is an oasis, green, lush and cool in a very hot island. The staff are kind, decent, gentle, hardworking and helpful and make the place a home. They prepare delicious breakfasts and cakes for tea time. The place is quiet and well located, close to the centre of the town. It is my intention to return to Ilha Grande and to stay at Aratinga Inn. I strongly recommend it to anyone travelling there.

Room was nice, fridge in the room, air con. Staff friendly but we only found one (the owner) who could speak English. This is a new owner, he exlained he had taken over the Inn since mid 2024. We got very helpful advice by email before we arrived, and the hotel arranged our transfer from Rio which was good.
