Good value,friendly staff location was nice and quiet and had restaurants near, short walk to bus stop into haarlem

Hotel Velsen was a life saver. We needed a place to stay between hitching a car ride to Ijmuiden and getting on the Amsterdam-Newcastle ferry. Since we have two cats, the pickings were slim. Luckily, Hotel Velsen is pet friendly. Our room was on two levels, and there was a window sill on each level, one per cat. The owners were lovely and very helpful.

9 minutes with the car to Ijmuden beach. Free parking in front of the hotel. Room with a fridge. Spacious enough for two people. Staff were very friendly. Free coffee.

It was very convenient to the cruise ship terminal. It was basic but very functional and a good price. The owners and staff were very helpful and especially for arranging a transfer to the cruise ship. Good breakfast and close to a lot of restaurants for evening meal.

The shower was fine. The shower water jet was strong and easily adjustable. There was no kettle in the room but I could use the coffee machine in the dining room for free, choosing between coffee, chocolate, tea, etc.

The staff was absolutely delightful, helpful, supportive in all means (like printing out tickets or assistance concerning an earlier check-in).
