What a fantastic location! The woods and mountains are truly the icing on the cake. However, the staff experience was quite disappointing. As mentioned in previous posts, one doesn't truly understand the challenges until they encounter them firsthand, and I certainly did. Initially, the atmosphere felt a bit off—perhaps it's just my timid nature—but if a pin had dropped in that room alongside the receptionist, you would have certainly heard it. The only thing that managed to elicit a smile from him was a Biscoff cookie left by a previous guest on the chair where we were seated. (Not to imply he was overly stiff, but that might just be my perspective.) The rest of the staff were perfectly fine, and the lady who assisted us at the end was genuinely lovely. However, room service was quite pricey, totaling around £130, which was a bit of a blow to the wallet. I also expected more of a view from the private onsen, but it was just into a fenced off back yard.

Everything was oh so perfect. From the moment we arrived, to the 5 minutes we were late in our checkout (11:05), we felt so welcome and at home. The only thing I can tell you is this: Plan your day well, and don't be like us, arriving at 16:30~ --do your best to arrive exactly on time, because every moment you could spend here is infinitely precious. Then again, the natural history museum in Odawa was also fantastic and I highly recommend it for families!!!

Such a special place and stay. Would highly recommend. We stayed in Villa 3 and it was gorgeous. Lovely staff and amazing location. We can in winter and can only imagine what it would be like I summer.

Splurged for this property. Loved it for the experience and having a private onsen. The socks door gift was a nice touch. Would be great if the dinner/breakfast was served in the room.

The Villas are wonderful and the private onsen made our whole trip. We got engaged on this trip and the staff went above and beyond making our stay feel extra special. This was our favourite place we stayed in Japan. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

A beautiful overnight stay in the hills, everything was so clean and comfortable. We wish we could have stayed an extra night to fully enjoy the facilities. Food at the Japanese restaurant was exceptional as an experience; we didn’t get to try the Woodside dining but it also looked stunning. The cafe was lovely. Our room (3) was perfect, with lovely views and the most wonderful Onsen. Travel around the area is easy on the buses, but price mounts up if you use the cable car and Ropeway (definitely do, just for the view of Mount Fuji), we used the Siurca card because we wanted to come by bullet train, but the Hanone Freepass makes it easier and quicker, and cheaper if we had included a boat ride

The villa is incredibly cozy, and we absolutely loved the indoor onsen, which was perfectly heated. The complimentary champagne provided by the villa added a special touch to our honeymoon celebration. The breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and delicious.
