No meals included, but there was a full service kitchen to make your own. Coffee and tea provided. What makes a stay here exceptional is the family that takes you in like you are part of it. Transport and great tours can be arranged through the host family. I booked 2 days and stayed 7. A wonderful experience.

I liked the privacy and the resemblence of living in a typical island home. I like the fact that it was tucked away in the middle of a residential area, so you are experiencing the reality of a Solomon Islander neighbourhood yet safe, secure and private.

This is a really good budget option in Honiara, a place where even the budget options are relatively expensive. The major plus is that at night it does cool down very well and the bedroom has two window fronts for good airflow. So sleep was always good. During the day when heat is just a reality in Honiara, there are fans. The space is ample and the balcony is nicely looking over greenery. The kitchen is well equipped with even an espresso machine. There is warm water in the shower and decent internet is included. These are major major pluses in Honiara. JR and his family a very good hosts, very friendly and always available if needed.

I was warmly welcomed by the daughter of the family and she showed me around in a well-equipped room; there is a fridge, a water kettle, cooking facilities etc. The place is situated on a rural road a little outside Honiara, and I thought Island Home vey peaceful and quiet. There are buses to and from Honiara centre (bus stop near the Red Shop). I didn't hear any neighbours. When leaving the daughter arranged a taxi for me.

The home is in a convenient location within walking distance of both the town and the Guadalcanal Memorial. JR is a great host who is able to help you with nearby attractions, places to eat and transport. Would be happy to stay again next time I visit Honiara.

The location is actually amazing. You get to experience a different kind of Honiara, away from a busy main street. When I was walking down the hill to the city center, I was surprised at the kindness of the whole community around. Children playing around, everyone greeting me... very nice walk (there is a minibus from town available, but I actually preferred to walk, for the experience of meeting all the locals on my way) The lodge is a family run business. Beautifully situated, with nice clean rooms and common area. I really loved JR, who is a caretaker of the lodge. Cheers to you and your family man!

The hosts are kind, super helpful and fun. They immediately made me feel like home when I arrived, and I felt very well taken care of. The place is located up the hill, so you get a beautiful view over the lush green environment. There's a bus right in front of the house that takes you downtown in just a few minutes.
