The location was lovely and the food was excellent. Elizabeth and Selwyn were so welcoming. The whole stay was fabulous.

Warm welcome from Elisabeth and Selwyn to this superb location. Our room looked across beautiful gardens and out to sea . Invited to "sundowners" drinks and canapes on the rear deck we enjoyed chat with fellow guests and our hosts. Our delicious dinner was served on the deck outside our room as the sun set. Large well appointed room with both ensuite and sizable wardrobe and suitcase space. Breakfast was taken indoors as it was chilly on the deck. Delicious, mostly homemade cereals, bread and preserves followed by a sophisticated choice of freshly prepared hot food. We accepted a complimentary ride/adventure across the creek and along the beach in their amphibious Argo vehicle in Selwyn's expert hands with fascinating commentary.

Beautiful location. Exceptional service provided by the owners, Elizabeth and Selwyn who were attentive, but not intrusive. They have thought of everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The food was home cooked from scratch and very tasty. We would definitely recommend a 2 night stay as there is plenty to do en route and in the area. Awatuna Lodge shouldn’t be missed. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and homemade bread and jam the eggs came straight from the chicken coop. The hosts Elizabeth and Selwyn were friendly and very accommodating.The room was lovely.

Elizabeth and Selwyn are very friendly and helpful, they do anything for their host. Room was spotless and guests all needs provided. Elisabeth is very good cook and food was delicious. Definitely, recommend to have a dinner there. Selwyn, took us for a sunset ride on the beach which added more enjoyment to our stay

Ideally placed as a stopover or for visiting the surrounding area. Fantastic views out to sea. Ensure that you take advantage to eat in each evening. Elizabeth proved to be a remarkable host.
