Very professional and welcoming, homely and very comfortable. The hotel is full of history and character. We have stayed in many hotels over the years and the Astor Private Hotel is by far our favourite.

I loved the atmosphere; the building is old and the interior is quirky and homely. The couple running it are friendly and welcoming, and gave us good local info re parking and the best way to access the city centre. It's only 300 metres to Salamanca Place and the Taste Of Summer, along with some great pubs and museums so we left the car and walked.

This is NOT a modern hotel. This is a time capsule from the past, but so well maintained! It is clean, comfortable and functional in the classic surrounding of a guest house from early last century. It is like staying in a museum or travelling by time machine... in a good way. The place is not at all tired and I have no idea how it can be so. An absolute GEM. Just don't go expecting a cookie cutter modern hotel experience.

Everything!!! This little hotel is amazing, very clean, tasteful décoration, very calm, hight quality of bedding and towels! Perfect sharing bathroom and toilet which makes you feel at home. Tildy was so nice and welcome me before the check in time, gave me good tips to enjoy the city. Perfectly located in the center of Hobart but in a quiet street! My only regret was to leave this hotel but I really hope to come back!
