Onsen was great. Staff terrific. Spacious common areas. Light breakfast provided and coffee when you need one.

Excellent location near the Ropeway, lots of amenities and a great common area to hang out in. Excellent onsen.

Great hostel vibe, make your own bed, bring your own food (kitchen, fridges etc. provided for use). Nice onsen, though no sauna or cold plunge pool. Beautiful location and base for ski and hiking activities.

This hostel is really excellent value considering it contains a good onsen, excellent kitchen, spacious dining / lounge area and very roomy dorms with comfortable beds. The location in Asahidake was much more beautiful than I had anticipated (especially as the snow was beginning to fall), and the staff were especially attentive and friendly. Don’t hesitate! The Onsen was perfect at the end of a hike - with an indoor and outdoor bath and plenty of showering space. Re provisions - yes there is a little shop on site but it is limited to simple dried ingredients & instant food / ice cream etc. I would recommend bringing things from Asahikawa or elsewhere. Also there is an ok restaurant at the ropeway which closes at 3!

We stayed in the cottage/dome, which is separate from the hostel. Would definitely recommend staying here! Clean, comfortable, cozy and private. In real life it looks even better than on the photos. Electricity is available. You have to go inside the hostel to go to the toilet or shared onsen, but it is only a 20 seconds walk (with outside slippers). Inside the dome you do have a little basin. Shared facilities and onsen are also clean.

Around a 40 minutes drive from Asahikawa city, or around 3 hours from Sapporo. Very good location near the cable car, and numerous hiking trails in the area. Onsen facilities superb and traditional, including an outdoor onsen that would be stunning in the Winter. We had a traditional tatami room with futons, that whilst slightly dated was a great experience for our group.
