Hostel Overview

Our property is designed for genuine travellers and does not provide accommodation to people with a residential address within the same local government area. Please contact the property prior to booking.
Government issued photo ID with current residential address will be required to be shown for all guests on check in.
Set amongst 8 acres of tropical gardens just 50 metres from the waterfront, Colonial Village Cabins, Camping and Tours boasts an outdoor pool, a spa and both tennis and basketball courts. The cafes, entertainment and galleries of Boat Harbour Marina are located just 300 metres away.
Colonial Village Cabins is just 100 metres from Hervey Bay Esplanade and 5 minutes drive from the Fraser Coast Airport. It is a 10-minute walk from Urangan Central Shopping Centre.
Accommodation options include self-contained villas and rooms with private bathrooms, or access shared bathroom facilities. All room types offer access to shared kitchen facilities and a communal lounge area. A range of fun activities including basketball and table tennis are also available on-site.
The marine park of Hervey Bay is ideal for jet skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing. Lucky guests may spot dolphins, dugongs and turtles in the calm waters of the bay.

This ground-floor motel room features a queen bed, a private ensuite bathroom, ceiling fan, air-conditioning, and a bar fridge. Additional amenities include tea/coffee making facilities, a lounge, and TV. The room also has a private veranda for added comfort. Guests have 24-hour access to a large shared kitchen, additional TV, and lounge and dining area. Bed linen and towels are provided; however, please note that this room is not serviced daily, and towels and sheets are provided on a weekly basis. Parking is available in a large open-air carpark. Rooms with facilities for disabled guests are available upon request. Please note, a $20 key deposit will be charged via credit card prior to arrival and will be refunded within 24hours of key return.

Basic Budget Backpacker Style Room (Double) - enter dates to see room photos

This ground floor room features a ceiling fan, security/fly-screen door, full length glass sliding door, 24-hour access to shared kitchen/lounge/TV area as well as shared bathroom facilities. The shared kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave and a stove top. Sheets are provided. Towel hire is available from reception for $5 per towel. All children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please note, a $20 key deposit will be charged via credit card prior to arrival and will be refunded within 24hours of key return. This room does NOT have air-conditioning and is a backpacker style room.

This ground floor, semi-detached room includes a bathroom with a shower/toilet. It also includes air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a queen-sized bed in the main bedroom and 2 single-sized beds in the 2nd bedroom. A private veranda with seating and a lounge/dining area with flat-screen TV and sofa are provided. Private on-site parking is located next to the villa. Bed sheets and towels are included. A fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, microwave and stove top is provided as well as security doors and fly screens. Please note these rooms are not serviced daily. Towels and sheets are provided weekly. Please note, a $20 key deposit will be charged via credit card prior to arrival and will be refunded within 24hours of key return.

“The GOOD, BAD and the UGLY!!”

On the outside the log cabins looked shabby and run down but inside was very nicely refurbished, spacious and very comfortable. As some windows were left open there was some debris blown around the cabin. Had to wash the table and fridge door as there were dirty. It would be awesome if there was a microwave and there is plenty of room to have one. There were plenty of power points which was wonderful. Loved the gardens which made it a private little haven away from home. Really enjoyed the many varieties of birds including the Peacocks wandering around. We will definitely return again. TO THE STAFF: Please fix the tiles at back door as I twisted my ankle on the gap in them. Thankfully it wasn't too bad, but it could be a disaster waiting to happen. It would be an easy fix. A timed night light on arrival would be helpful as it is very hard to see in the dark. Both back doors could NOT be unlocked from outside which meant you had to go around the front of cabin to enter and unlock the back doors. Not a biggie but just inconvenient.

Property was easy to find and the accommodation where we stayed was secluded so away from traffic etc. The Boat Club, Shopping Centre and even the centre of town is only minutes away.
