Colin’s guesthouse deserves a solid 10 out of 10! The room was spacious, well-equipped, and incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely perfect – everything we could have wanted was available. The location is ideal, and having a private parking spot in the garage was an added bonus. However, the true highlight of our stay was Colin himself. He doesn’t just take excellent care of his guests; he also shares invaluable tips for exploring not only Hermanus but all of South Africa. One evening, he spent over an hour with us, offering insights and suggestions. Following his advice, we even adjusted part of our planned route, which turned out to be one of the best decisions of our trip. We would gladly return anytime and highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Colin, for an unforgettable experience!

Our stay at Joie De Vivre in Hermanus was nothing short of exceptional. We knew we had found a hidden gem from the moment we arrived. The guesthouse is in a perfect location — peacefully tucked away yet still within walking distance to the town center and just a stone's throw from the stunning cliff path. But what truly set Joie De Vivre apart was the extraordinary hospitality we received from Colin, the owner. His warmth and attentiveness went above and beyond anything we’ve experienced in our travels. It felt less like staying at a guesthouse and more like visiting a friend’s home. Colin genuinely cares about making guests feel comfortable, and it shows in every little detail. This villa is focused on comfort and quality, with spacious rooms and inviting common areas. While some properties may cram in extra bedrooms to maximize occupancy, Colin keeps the number of rooms limited to ensure a more personal and relaxed experience. Although the weather didn’t cooperate with our plans to use the lovely pool, we could easily see how perfect it would be to unwind there on a sunny day. Overall, our experience at Joie De Vivre was one of the best we’ve ever had. Between the beautiful setting, the fantastic hospitality, and the comfort of the guesthouse, we can’t recommend it enough. If you're ever in Hermanus, this place is an absolute must-stay.

LUVED everything .... We visit Hermanus annually and have stayed at numerous Guest houses over the years but at last we have found the perfect Guesthouse to return to ,.... Upgraded to spacious King room, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Added bonus is lock up garage.
