Whilst this property is comfortable and clean, we found the decor to be rather lost in the 70’s, which made it feel a little dark and drab. We were only told by the owners the evening before we left, that Eskom would be switching off all power in Hermanus the next morning at 6.00 am until 18.00 - with such a significant and lengthy maintenance power out, the residents of Hermanus were surely given notice of this a few days before? It was quite annoying to be told so late. We were given a hot pot/thermos to use for hot water - it was unusable as it was either dirty or rusted inside. The lady who checked us in was lovely.

I liked everything about this guest house. This was my second time in Brown Jug. The host and hostess and the workers are awesome. I would like to come again in summer to be in the pool

We had a fantastic stay, and the accommodation could not have been any better. Fantastic hosts and fantastic staff. The location is perfect for a stroll into Hermanus town and the fantastic cliff walks.
