We booked a Superior King which was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and room was exceptionally quiet. Surprised the fridge was empty and we had to move the kettle to find a plug socket. The bath was big which was great. The Breakfast was exceptionally good! A wide choice of cold and hot food. Even Skagen! The scrambled egg didn't taste rubbery like some hotels and was moist. Coffee could be better but just nitpicking. The location from our point of view was excellent. It was quiet, close to the sea, marketplace, town and facilities.

The place being converted from an active prison it is amazing to see how they have transformed it to a hotel. People who watch lot of haunted movies will surly be awake all night :-) Heated bathroom was a gem .

Location is great, either walking distance or tram right outside to go further. Staff were lovely, breakfast was delicious and room was a decent size.

beautiful, clean and spacious room, excellent breakfast. Very close to the city center (tram stops right in front of the entrance). When we informed the hotel that we would be missing the breakfast because of an early excursion they prepared for us breakfast bags to take with us

Unique premises, a great experience. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, a chance or a hot bath. Half board was convenient.

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance from most sights, but there is a tram stop directly outside also. The hotel has been converted to a great standard. The room was lovely and warm, and the under floor heating in the bathroom was an added bonus. Huge bath as well, which was nice after a very cold day out sightseeing. The breakfast was just OK.

Great location, very well connected (tram stop is in front of the hotel) and at walkable distance from the great center of Helsinki. The hotel premise is an old prison very particular and nicely adapted as hotel. Interesting to see the details of the structure and read about the history. Thanks to the old stylish thick walls, the room was amazingly quite:) The breakfast and dinner were included in the price. Superb breakfast, very good dinner. Overall very good, especially considering the value for price!

Excellent hotel, unique and very comfortable defintely exceeded our expectations. The staff, room and food were excellent. Firstly we had a standard room which was a good size and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Food was lovely, breakfast was varied. Fika and evening meal was included too, which was buffet style. The restuarant/dining area had a lovely relax feel to it. Each night cost us around £115 with food included, excellent value we thought considering we was in Helsinki. Very easy to reach from the train station. We walked but you can get tram number 4 which stops outside. We used the sauna which was a lovely experience for us, as we were able to have sole use for one hour for 20 euros which we thought was very reasonable. Though it’s free at the weekend in the morning. There are games/cards dotted around which adds to extra entertainment. Considering it was a prison beforehand the transformation is fabulous. You can see the history is still there but is an amazing transformation. Definitely recommend 100% you won’t be disappointed.

There is a very unusual design because it's historical building. You can find a short story about this building on the reception. Very friendly staff. Very tasty dinner and absolutely incredible breakfast. The room was standard but it was very clean and big. One interesting moment that there were three books in the room on the table. You can read them. I will recommend this hotel and will come back again indeed.
