Beautiful location in the peace of the county. Enjoyed the sunset. Nice nearby lookout. Easy to get to and collect keys from friendly hosts. Had a relaxing stay.

Breakfast was good. The owners were very helpful and friendly. There were bicycles available for borrowing at no extra cost which we took advantage of. The firepit was an added attraction and we were able to collect firewood on the property to use.

My family enjoyed a delightful 4-night stay at Windana Cottages in late September 2024. It is possibly the best place to be based while exploring the Flinders Ranges, being just 2 km from the town of Hawker which has the basic amenities you would need for a trip, and a 40-minute drive to Wilpena Pond where most of the walks and scenic drives start from. At the same time, the cottages had that sense of remoteness of living in the outback that we were wanting to experience – we were surrounded by sheep and the undulating ranges, and we were treated to open skies that showcased dazzling stars at night and glowing sunrises in the morning. The cottages themselves are very comfortable and equipped with all the things we needed for our holiday accommodation – solid beds, hot showers and plenty of cooking equipment. We also appreciated the generous breakfast supplies provided in the cottages, from bread, muffins and cereals to various spreads, juices and beverages. The hosts were friendly and unobtrusive, and it was nice to know that they were in the farmhouse a little way off or a phone call away had we needed any help. For anyone planning a trip to the Flinders Ranges, we would definitely recommend staying at Windana Cottages. You could not ask for a better location and at far better value for money than most other accommodation in the area.

Breakfast facilities and other essentials were all available. Cooking facilities were also perfect.

Lovely peaceful scenic location. Very good self contained unit not far from Hawker for a coffee, meals etc. fantastic drive to Wilpena pound and beyond. Laundry facilities were a bonus.
