Lovely internal architecture ,excellent breakfast, staff friendly ,polite and helpful. Room 124 near the lift lobby on the 1st floor, heavy footfall so noisy at night. Floorboards creak bathroom on the small size. Hotel location excellent and central. would we use this hotel again ? yes but request a different room location.

Beautiful hotel in lovely setting, yes parking is limited but plenty of other options, you just need to walk a little. Entrance and general character of the hotel is wonderful and yes it has aged and is slightly warn in places but still wonderful. Our double room was great, everything we needed for our stay, yes bathroom outdated but it was clean and functional, we had plenty of hot water for a bath. The room seemed a little cool but aren’t all older buildings difficult and expensive to heat, we didn’t freeze and weren’t in the room that much. Night time was very comfortable and personally glad it was cooler rather than too hot, you can’t please everyone! But it was a very comfortable bed indeed.

We have stayed here several times. The hotel is charming and very clean, with friendly staff. The location in the centre of town is excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We will certainly be returning.

Parking space was available as per my discussion with your receptionist 3 days prior to arrival. The hotel is so well placed for all the shops and restaurants. The history of the hotel is well documented in old photos and was very interesting. Breakfast was a good choice both continental and for us Brits. Rooms clean, warm and well equipped.
