Modern, stylish resort-style accommodation in Ha Long - a great base for those looking to stop over before a cruise. We did a 2D 1N Lan Ha Bay cruise and stayed at Oakwood the night before - it was ideal. Ha Long is a strange place as it's a ghost town, and though the hotel was quiet we had a great stay, using the gym and pool and enjoying a great breakfast.

Awesome house/villa with great rooms, spacious and with a garden. We were a family of 8 on a short one day breather after a Ha Long Bay cruise before going to Sa Pa. We went there probably off season, so we did not experience any crowds. Fantastic breakfast. We enjoyed some sun and spent some hours lounging around a nice pool with an along side restaurant. On departure we were given 50% vouchers to the cable car at Fansipan, but did not realize that in order to use these you need to present them with your passport.

The area is quiet, very relaxing and private. Unfortunately we stayed for a short time and the weather was not that good. Very good breakfast. Comfy beds and pillows. The room is big but cozy. Staff is friendly.

The location is very convenient & close to the beach. The service was very good. All of the staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast was good with sufficient varieties, especially the traditional hot food section (Vietnamese phở & bún). Overall, we had a great experience & would highly recommend it.

It’s was stunning. The pool and restaurant are massive so never feels crowded. The staff were exceptionally helpful.

Oakwood was simply incredible from start to finish. We were here for four relaxing nights on our honeymoon to enjoy serenity and peace after travelling through the crazy cities Vietnam has to offer. We are SO glad we picked Oakwood to spend this time at. Firstly, the staff made everything PERFECT for us. They were so welcoming, kind and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We are so grateful for the lengths they go to, to make sure guest experience is the best. The villa totally exceeded our (already high) expectations. It was modern, clean and beautifully decorated and designed. It was a gorgeous open plan design downstairs with a washing machine and fridge/freezer and a huge bedroom with a balcony overlooking the lake. The bed was really big and comfortable and the curtains made the room nice and dark so we slept well. There was a bath and shower in the bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. The breakfasts were fantastic and there was so much choice. Pastries, eggs made to order, Vietnamese and Western options, plenty of fruit and fruit juices, pancakes, waffles, Nutella, a coffee station and much, much more. We ate at Oakwood one evening for dinner and it was brilliant. The waiter, Dinh Tuyen was so attentive and happy. The resort was very quiet but this is probably because it was November and low season. We literally had the huge adult pool to ourselves and during the days, we barely saw any other guests. I'm guessing it's not like this all year round. The views from the swimming pool and balcony overlooking the pool were beautiful and if you're lucky with great weather, the sunsets are pretty spectacular. There is a direct route to the beach and it takes literally 2 minutes to walk there. We did a one day boat trip of Halong Bay which we loved and would recommend. We also visited a few local restaurants (Hops & Chops and A Dong) which were both lovely.
