Ryoko “Good”
We love Hakuba all season and have stayed in many places. Now that Hakuba has many modern & comfortable vacation rental options, Phoenix Cocoon paled in comparison to other similarly priced rentals. Wasn't bad, just wasn't as good as the others. Would stay again if we want to be in Hakuba and are out of options. There are many pros, so if none of the cons bother you then it's a solid place to stay. Pros: Dry room was best we've seen in town. Garage is also awesome especially during snow season. Bed rooms are spacious. Everything clean. The beautiful greens from every window was amazing (we stayed in the summer). Lots of closet space. Heated flooring every where. Cons: Plates / cups / glasses / utensils were ample but cooking utensils were limited. Also no basics like oil, salt, pepper etc. Been a while since we stayed in Hakuba/Niseko that had NOTHING at these kind of price point rentals. Dining bench not very comfortable to sit/eat on. MBR & bathroom showers not well designed. All toilet doors lacked privacy (sliding doors with big gap for sound, MBR toilet door is that plus translucent). Many of the rooms only had fluorescent lights.
Frederick “Amazing accommodation close to Happo bus terminal”
Amazing accommodation, clean, heated floors, well equipped kitchen. Has a ensuite in the master bed, and then seperate bathroom and toilet. Large drying room with washer and dryer. Tea coffee, detergent, washing powder included. They also provided a van which was invaluable for getting around Hakuba. (Apparently they will stop this due to COVID but I hope they don't because it really sets them apart from the others!). The accom is only 6 mins from Happo bus terminal but it is uphill on return. Staff were friendly and responsive on whatsapp and email. Very helpful. Provided shuttle pick-up and drop off too on arrival/departure. 100% would recommend this accommodation.
