Fantastic relaxing trip, friendly welcoming staff, the onsen was wonderful love the experience, about a 30 min walk from the station but it's up hill so be warned, lovely restuarant just down from the hotel, where we had lunch before check in, the dinner and breakfast was great, realised it's my 2nd time here first time back in 2011. Definitely will return.

The room and the view was great. Breakfast buffet extensive. the dinner food got a little tired after 4 days . the outdoor Onsen was fantastic as was the sauna.

Enjoy the onsen. So peaceful. The Private onsen one was ok but didn't have the ambience as the Public onsen. After the onsen we enjoyed sitting in the massage chair. Away from the town. Only 15minutes walk. We loved everything.

We purposely booked this hotel to experience a traditional ryokan as part of our 2 week visit to Japan. Hakonenomori Okada did not disappoint. The room we stayed in had 2 beds and space for another 4 futons. The traditional kaiseki dinner was amazing and the indoor and outdoor onsen was an experience to remember...especially taking a dip when the temperature was 6C. The breakfast was average but the view from the dining room was spectacular. I would also like to mention that the receptionist helped us arrange to ship our luggage to our next destination.

Traditional Japanese breakfast, not too many options but good enough. Staffs are very friendly and they do speak English. They have the in-house hot springs as well as a family room for it. The place is nice, quite environment with great nature view.

The hotel has a beautiful onsen and free massage chairs, computer games room. It was great for families with young children or older children. Wear the yukata to the onsen and spa areas. The spa building is connected to the hotel by a covered walkway on the 2nd floor (something like that).
