Karaku is truly fantastic. Great location, short walk from Gora station - super easy walk nothing hilly. Staff was very kind and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean with private path. We will come back again.

It was conveniently located just 2 streets down the hill from the train station. It was beautifully decorated. The private onsen on the balcony was wonderful. The rooms were large and comfortable.

The service provided was excellent, the staff went over and above, which made the trip really memorable. The ability to book the private onsens from either the front desk or from a tablet in the room, made it very easy and accessible. The private onsens were also a delight!

An absolutely breathtaking experience. Extremely hospitable and attentive staff, beautifully appointed rooms, luxurious facilities and amazing food. I would definitely recommend booking the room with the private onsen with the mountain view. We opted for half board. The dinners were like pieces of art.

Great location, short walk to Gora station over the railway tracks. Amazing food and service. Room was very comfortable. We had Japanese dinner and breakfast in our kimonos and really enjoyed the whole experience and the beautifully presented food. Loved the hot spring bath on the balcony and the guest room with free snacks and drinks was much appreciated. Shuttle service to Odawara Station was also very convenient.

Really wonderful hotel, with exceptional attention to detail and excellent staff. We couldn't recommend highly enough if you are looking for a splurge hotel in the Hakone area, you will feel spoiled.

I cannot fault this hotel - one of the best 5 star hotels (if not the best) I’ve stayed in. Treat yourself and go here - the staff, facilities, food, spa and attention to detail is outstanding.

My wife and I stayed for two night with breakfast and dinner in August 2024. Meals are absolutely marvelous, services and people are impeccable. Walking, uphill walk, to the Gora Garden and train station 10 ~15 mins very convenient. Big public onsen and private onsen in room are also our favorites. Will definitely re-visit soon.
