Our stay was great! The Pension Jokura is a little gem run by awesome people! The interior is super unique and there are lots of things to discover. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The surrounding offers everything from small restaurants to various cafes. The waterside and the cable car to Mt. Hokadate are also very close by. There is even a drug store/supermarket across the street.

The host were extremely welcoming, goving us tea, a lift to the station because it was snowing and also some gifts. Very lovely couple and fantastic house with quirky decorations all around. If we are ever back to Hakodate we will stay with them!

We had such a great stay at Pension Jokura. The location is excellent for exploring the city, and our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The amenities and well thought out for travelers and the atmosphere is very warm. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended. Worth to stay here. Location is very good. Free parking. Walkable to all hot spots. Beautiful big house, so nice decoration, very clean and completed of toiletries and towel. The hosts are so kind and helpful. They said sorry for the room thus small space, actually not at all and it was enough for me to put two big luggages. If you know how to adjust it. Most important, the mattress is so comfy and have a good sleep. Please don't miss this place out.

I fell in love with Hokadote, not only because of the city but mainly because of the people I met on my way especially the host of pension Jokura are amazing human beings, so kind and hard working. The pension is impeccable, imprinted with the owner's soul. The pension is well located at the feet of Mount Hokadote. I will definitely go back there if I can.

We really enjoyed our stay with lovely, friendly hosts who made this a special experience. The shared facilities were spotless and well thought out. It was quiet at night (although not many staying when we were there). It is a bit of a walk from the station but perfectly manageable, or there is a tram running close by. Japanese-style rooms.

Very friendly and experience host. The whole setup is like a hostel. room is clean, there is a common area for everyone. even though we have to share washroom and shower room, we did not have any concern at all. highly recommended. When we left, host even drove us back to the train station.

The place and hosts were very welcoming. The downstairs area was full of curiosities, I could have spent hours looking around it all. Also the host dropped me off at the morning markets and also later on that day at the ferry terminal. I wish I stayed longer than one night.

This is an absolute gem of a place! We had a large, comfortable Japanese style room, with private 'shared facilities', access to tea, coffee, fridge, laundry etc. The hosts make this feel like a home stay. They are so kind and welcoming, and the little gifts are a gorgeous touch. It is a very convenient location for visiting all sights around Hakadate. Excellent value for money - highly recommended!
