We stayed at Visu Villa for four nights as a family of five adults, and it was a truly memorable experience. Ruwan, the host, was fantastic- helping us plan excursions and activities with ease. From the guesthouse, you can arrange exciting local adventures with his team at very reasonable prices. The rooms are quite basic digs but have everything you need- comfortable beds, private bathrooms, and showers. The sitting areas have a charming jungle vibe, and while we didn’t use the pool, it looked clean and refreshing. The on-site restaurant serves authentic Sri Lankan food, freshly made. The Kottu was the best I've had so far, and they also prepared delicious curries and traditional breakfasts upon request. You seriously won't go hungry here. For our group, the atmosphere at Visu Villa was fantastic-a mix of relaxation, adventure and hospitality we’ll remember for years. For an authentic stay and insider tips, book this place! 🌴

Rowan’s tree house suite is a taste of the jungle with modern hotel facilities. A rare find, but not as rare as the welcome, hospitality and friendship which he, his family, staff and Dhilip de Altwis provided throughout our stay. Each meal was a lesson in Sri Lankan cuisine and, in the evening, was accompanied by the music and wisdom of Dhilip. They arranged everything for us from dancing exhibitions to Safaris and bird watching (Dhilip again). Thank you all for a great stay and a great insight into Srilankan life.

I really really recommend Visu Villa! Ruwan is very kind and helpful. He can arrange whatever you need, from massages to safari trips. We felt like we were at home. Everyday there was a live music show in the afternoon. Food is also fantastic. Everyday we get different local breakfasts to try different things. In Visu Villa everything was amazing 😍

Great, honest service. Host (Ruwan) works hard to accommodate any need/request and makes great recommendations for local tours/attractions. We especially enjoyed the cultural dance and the (free!) local spice tour. Breakfast and overall vibe were great! This eco-lodge is next to the jungle, expect to be right up with nature, which is part of the experience!

Everything was great. Breakfast, help, and kids enjojed the pool. We even had evening koncert and playing the guitar and singing. Simple, nice lokation and really frendly host. Thank you for your concern and special ayurveda tea when I had swore throat.👍

What an amazing experience! We came here for 3 nights after reading all these wonderful reviews. I have travelled a lot of places, but never ever have I actually thought of coming back to a place I have been already. That was until I stayed in Visu Villa. I was very sad to leave, because everything was just perfect. Ruwan and his team did everything they could to make our stay so perfect and always with a smile on their face. We felt very welcome, had a great room, the pool was nice and clean. The food was incredible, the evenings with a nice atmosphere. We also got a private safari where we spotted many elephants for a fair price and a tour around the village and even a lift to our next destination. Free of charge. Ruwan is the best host I have ever met. You can never find a better place to stay than here. ☺️ Thanks again to the whole team and we wish you all the best!

Everything was nice in the room and the restaurant etc (amazing breakfast) so really good standard for an hotel. The staff is really nice they dropped me to the bus station and help me to catch the bus to kandy :) thank you for this

The staff were very accommodating, helpful and friendly. Loved the pool, live music and the quaint welcoming atmosphere. The food was plentiful and tasty. We also did a safari and village tour which were fun and interesting. Many thanks to Ruwan and his staff.

Reminding us of back packing days vibe but fabulously comfortable for us in middle age too! Charming friendly helpful team, great food and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. We got the treehouse which was really funky!

The host and his team made this stay some of the best days of travel me and my girlfriend have ever experienced. They picked us up from the train station, took us to all of the local sights, and even drove us 100km to our next stop. They cooked incredible, filling food and gave us all of the help and guidance we could need. We had such an amazing time here, it ticked every single box and then more. The room was comfortable and clean, equipped with a fan and aircon. If you are wondering where to stay in Dambula / Habarana, trust me, this is the place to stay. What an experience.
