Fantastic little piece of heaven in the jungle. Lovely to see squirrels and monkeys! Kid loved that! Great base to visit different sites in the area. Lovely staff and super helpful to organize trips Very clean and comfortable! Loved it. Will come back!

We had an excellent experience at Muthu Village. Comfortable tree houses like rooms surrounded by trees in a calm and quiet environment. Mouthwatering Sri Lankan food. Nice swimming pool.

Breakfast was brilliant. 2 out of 3 dinners were great with a nice variety of sri lankan dishes to try. Being in the middle of the jungle with brilliant outdoor showers, so so peaceful and you can see lots of wildlife and monkeys. The staff are absolutely amazing and super friendly and attentive. You feel at home straight away and the rooms are brilliant.

Habarana Tree House Mutu Village – Stay on December 22/23, 2024 We stayed here during our tour of Sri Lanka. My wife, our 6-year-old son, and I spent two nights in this wonderful place—and we absolutely loved it! The forest cabins we stayed in were beautiful, very spacious, and spotlessly clean. A lot of attention has clearly been given to creating a unique experience for guests. The shower inside the cabin was particularly special—partly outdoors, which added a fun and natural touch. The cabin also had a large balcony, where you can enjoy your morning coffee while soaking in the sights and sounds of the jungle as nature wakes up around you. Once the rest of the family was awake, we would head to the restaurant area to indulge in a truly delicious local breakfast, served by the super-friendly staff. We really felt pampered here! Another fun part of our stay was the little animals that came to visit us. A squirrel, in particular, stopped by every morning to say hello—and, of course, to see if there was a tasty treat to share. After breakfast, my son and I enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool before starting our day of exploring. The area has plenty of activities to offer. We also visited some excellent massage places nearby (not the cheapest, but definitely worth it). Our son even had his first-ever massage, which lasted over an hour! We thought he wouldn’t last that long, but to our surprise, he absolutely loved it and wanted to stay until the end. We also highly recommend the food at the hotel. It’s delicious, authentic, and very convenient if you don’t feel like going out in the evening. After a day of activities and a relaxing swim, it was perfect to just sit down for a nice dinner without having to leave the property. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt this place truly deserved it. Highly recommended!

The eco context feels like you are in middle of the jungle. There was a squirrel nest on the top of the air con inside the room. It created a lot of noise but was so cute. Lots of little creatures everywhere but it is part of the experience as the houses are semi opened and have cracks in the wood structure. The animals around the property are plentiful from squirrels to monkeys eating the mangoes from the trees on the property to frogs living in the pond. The kindness of the staff. Always happy to help even if they don’t understand English fully. Same, the manager is always happy to chat and share recommendations. He is quite reactive on what’s app if we have a question. The breakfast is big and very tasty.
