What a gorgeous pace. It was really nice to stay in a traditional home and the host and hostess were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. We loved our stay in Gujo Hachiman and hope to return again soon

The hosts were amazingly friendly and helpful. We had travelled to Gujohachiman for the festival and they were very helpful in advising us on how beat to experience it. They also provide yukata rentals, including help with fitting. The location is fantastic, very easy to access the festival and there is a beautiful river running past for a swim during the day. Expect a Japanese style stay, with tatami rooms and futon mattresses. A great environment to enjoy a traditional Japanese experience like tetsuya odori.

Gujo Hachiman is a lovely small town, and あぽろん is ideally located as a base for a visit. The accommodation is shared with the owners, but is private. Bedrooms are upstairs, but the bathroom and toilet is downstairs. The hosts were very helpful, despite having limited English, thanks to Google translate.

This homestay is in a fabulous location, right on the beautiful river and just a very short walk to the main part of town (and the best coffee we had in Japan!). The house has been renovated throughout and is spacious and very comfortable. Our upstairs area had two tatami bedrooms and two sitting rooms, which was a fantastic amount of space for our family. Only one section (and one bedroom) we were able to lock which didn't bother us but is worth mentioning. The downstairs areas (bathroom, kitchen, laundry etc) are shared with the host who was obviously very considerate of our privacy and space. Parking was free and directly outside the house, which was an additional bonus. The beds were comfortable and we slept well with the sounds of the river. Gujo Hachiman is an absolutely wonderful, charming town and the highlight of our trip. Highly recommend this as a place to visit!
