Hotel Overview

This modern, family-run hotel is situated in the Bavarian town of Grünwald, in the southern outskirts of Munich. The Alter Wirt has recently been renovated in an environmentally-friendly manner. The rooms feature chestnut floorboards, locally crafted furniture and metal-free beds and free wireless internet access. Treat yourself to some delicious Bavarian specialities in the hotel restaurant. The hotel cooks use only fresh, local, organic produce to prepare the meals. In warmer weather enjoy the sun terrace, the apple orchard and beer garden. A fully equipped seminar hall and conference room make the Alter Wirt the ideal venue for your business events. The hotel enjoys good road connections, and also lies within Munich’s public transport network.

The fine print
Our organic restaurant is completely closed from December 27th, 2024 to January 8th, 2025. Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are not included during this time. Intermediate room cleaning will not take place during closing times.
Our rooms are cleaned on the third day of the stay.
If an earlier interim cleaning is desired, this is possible free of charge upon request.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

We stayed overnight on our way to Slovenia and this hotel was perfect for this. The breakfast was truly amazing, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options (including a variety of plant-based dairy options, both for cereals and for coffees). Really outstanding! The room was rather basic but clean and comfortable.
