Very clean rooms, toilets and showers with fantastic views of the mountains. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast served was excellent! The local buses helped us a lot getting from the hostel to the town.

The gentleman at reception was lovely. Beds were comfortable - typical hostel style (as anticipated). Rooms were warm. Good showers. We were advised to catch public transport up the hill, which was definitely good advice. Breakfast was great - we were given an early breakfast (before the usual time) as we had to leave early, which was an unexpected bonus.

The property is stunning. The location is great, with a bus passing directly in front of it and going to town in 5 min. The green area in front is a dream and directly in front of the mountains. Very peaceful and also very clean.

The best part of this hostel is its stunning location. From the lawn at the back of the property the views are just awesome! The rooms are quite basic for the price, but Grindelwald is an expensive ski village so not unexpected. It has the feel of a community lodge, feels a little "homemade" but it is cosy. It was very quiet when we were there. Breakfast was excellent. Do take careful note of the advice to catch the local bus from the station. It is a STEEP walk up to the hostel. The bus stops right out the front of the hostel. Only downside is that it only runs every 30 to 60 minutes. Do tell the bus driver that you are staying at the hostel as you can ask for a bus pass on checkin and the driver let us on for free even before we checked in.

The staff are so nice! The hostel also has an idyllic feel and they are very environment-conscious and have taken steps to involve their visitors, which I find great. The view of the mountain from the rooms was also beautiful! Everything was clean and although the toilets and showers are shared, they are clean and easily accessible. The common areas are also very comfy and inviting. Although the hostel was a bit far away and the way to it was steep, we enjoyed our ascent to it and descent to town as the views are wonderful.
