Inns Overview

Located next to the First gondola lift in central Grindelwald, Hotel Alte Post offers a small spa section and a traditional restaurant. All rooms have a balcony with mountain views.
Free Wi-Fi and cable TV are standard room facilities. All rooms have a bathroom, work desk and traditional pinewood furniture.
Breakfast is buffet style and includes local products. Regional specialities can also be enjoyed at the restaurant.
Wellness facilities include a sauna, steam bath and small fitness studio. A massage service is available upon request.
In the winter, guests arriving on Mondays receive welcome drinks and snacks. Grindelwald offers 165 km of ski slopes and 43 lifts. The ski bus stops opposite the Alte Post.
In summer, the area offers 350 km of hiking routes, a golf course and plenty of tennis courts. The resort also has paragliding and swimming facilities.

Breakfast, positioning, some traditional staff at entrance. Every Wednesday in the summer months there is a festival in the village and in front of the hotel there are traditional dances and songs.

My son and I loved Alte Post. We particulariy enjoyed the view, the location and most notably the owner, Anna. I would not hesitate to stay again on my next visit to Grindelwald.

The room is so comfy with a balcony with a stunning view. The staff is helpful and I love the breakfast. The room is clean and spacious. Everything was perfect.

Everything! It’s centrally located, just 10 mins from the train station. The views from the hotel were unbeatable. But what we loved the most was the food — not just at the breakfast buffet, but the restaurant as well. It was outstanding! We are fairly everywhere in Grindelwald, but the freshness, quality and taste of the food was just terrific.

We’ve stayed in Grindelwald twice before but wish we’d found the Hotel Alte Post sooner. It’s fabulously located, the room we had was large with a balcony and a fabulous view of the Eiger to wake up to. The housekeeping staff were lovely and friendly, as were the staff at breakfast and on reception. We felt very comfortable and welcomed. The owner was a lovely lady who was incredibly helpful. We liked everything about this Swiss style property!

The location is very good, 2-minute walking distance to the cable car station to First. The staff here are so nice.

I can’t recommend Alte Post enough. Everything from the rooms to the staff to the breakfast was just incredible.
