Hostel Overview

Located at 2,200 metres above sea level, Berggasthaus First offers panoramic views of the Jungfrau region and the Swiss Alps. It can be reached only by cable car from Grindelwald and is located in the same building as the cable car station.
The Berggasthaus First offers simply furnished dormitory rooms with bright wooden furniture, shared bathroom facilities, a ski bar, and a lounge. Free WiFi is available in public areas and the guest house offers direct access to the ski slopes. Ski passes are not included in the room price.
During the day, guests can sample Swiss dishes in the on-site restaurant and on the terrace. Half board includes a 3-course menu.

Staff was very friendly and international (I'm Swiss and had guests from abroad with me so it was convenient that everybody spoke English there). Half-board food (dinner) and breakfast was excellent! Nice atmosphere, great mountain view from restaurant terrace and room window. Convenient access directly in the station of the cable car.

The location, at the top of the mountain, is very nice. The view surrounded by fairy-tale-like clouds in the morning when we woke up was fantastic. Besides, it is not far from the gorgeous lake Bachalpsee! The staff were friendly. The free breakfast was very good.
