Firstly, the host, Ignitio. He was so friendly, kind and helpful. He upgraded me to a double room at no change because there was a perfume lingering in my single from a previous guest. The hotel is quaint and old-fashioned, in a quiet street in the centre of the city. It had a window with beautiful wooden shutters and looked out onto a courtyard. It was warm and comfortable as the host provided an electric radiator. My room was completely quiet so I had a great night's sleep. The bed was comfortable with a firm mattress which I like. The room and ensuite were spotless. The room was super value for money. There is no meal option but there is an excellent cafe around the corner serving great coffee and cheap breakfasts. There is a bus stop a stone's throw away with a bus to the Alhambra but taxis are not expensive either. I had paid for a two night stay but for personal reasons had to leave after one night. Ignition refunded the cost of the second night without any hesitation. I felt safe and welcome as a solo female guest. I would definitely stay here again.

Very cute hotel, with all the essentials. 24h reception with very nice staff. They were also very knowledgeable and told me where to explore in Granada. As a female solo traveler I felt super safe. The location is also great!

It was a great stay and I would love to go back one day! Ignatio gave a warm welcome, giving great tips on what to do and where to eat. Location is good, everything within walking distance.

I stayed at El Zaguan from 3rd to 6th November and immediately felt I was in good hands after meeting Ignazio. This charming, traditional, and well kept hotel is situated just a few yards from the beautiful Ginko Biloba tree lined Gran Via de Colon with Catedral de Granada nearby. I was travelling alone, and left after two nights for Cordoba and unfortunately lost my phone and credit cards in the Bus Station in Granada. I was so upset, I could only think to return to El Zaguan to stay another night and hope that my phone would be returned to me. Ignazio was so very helpful, allowing me to use his computer to try to contact my family and let me use his telephone to call the UK to stop my bank cards. My son, the next day, sent me money by Western Union to enable me to continue my holiday. Thank you so much Ignazio, and your brother, for treating me with so much compassion when I was so upset over the loss of my phone etc. If it wasn’t for you, I don’t know what would have happened to me. Thank you also Ignazio for arranging a ticket to the Alhambra for me. My son, Rhys, and my daughter, Mari, send you their love. Delyth Edwards.

Property is well located, only a ten minute walk from Plaza Nuevo. While old-fashioned, it was well kept and clean and the bed was very comfortable.

My taxi from the bus station was able to stop only a few yards from the entrance. The room was big compared to some hotels I have stayed in, in Europe. There were 2 twin beds pushed together. I could see the room being almost too small for 2 people because the bed was in a corner with one side of the bed against one wall and another side against another wall. I like that I was able to close the shutters and they completely blocked the outside light out. The staff were perfectly pleasant. The lady who checked me told my how to take the 32 bus to the Alhambra, but I didn't see the number 32 bus listed at the bus stops by the intersection she told me to go. I ended up taking a taxi.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful-we used a mixture of Spanish and French to communicate! Clean and comfortable rooms with decent showers. Great location.

Pretty simple but very nice hotel close to the center and major attractions. Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable shower and the general atmosphere of the hotel was very nice. A great option for a few days stay and traveling

Ignacio, the desk manager, was a wonderfully kind and cheerful man. It was a real pleasure to be greeted by him on arrival and return to the hostel.
