This privately run hotel in Gießen enjoys a scenic location on the banks of the river Lahn while being only a 15-minute walk from the town centre.
Set in a converted ice storage plant, the Altes Eishaus, Hotel & Restaurant provides affordable, cosily furnished rooms with en-suite facilities. Wireless hotspot access is available in all public areas.
From here, you can easily reach local sights such as the unique Mathematicum (interactive museum devoted to mathematics) and Botanical Gardens.
The Oswaldsgarten railway station and the A480 and A485 motorways are nearby. They provide quick links to attractions including the old quarters of Wetzlar and Marburg.

A very speciel hotel with memories and machines from earlier in the restaurant. Nice to have diner in the evening in the "Biergarden" - very close to the river. From our room door to a terrace with view to the river.

The building itself is very nice and in a nice location. Free parking space directly in front of the hotel. Easy check-in and out. Rooms were very clean and easily accessible.

This is the second time that we have stayed here. The venue has good parking, the rooms are nice a clean. Breakfast is good. The restaurant is excellent. The hotel is on a quiet residential street but within walking distance of the town centre.
