Very cosy accommodation just 15 minutes walk from the centre and only 6 minutes from train station. Good breakfast, excellent, very helpful, and charming host. Highly recommended.

We loved this place, and really hope to be back for longer than just one night. The location was brilliant - a quiet, short walk to the centre and Christmas markets. Our host was helpful and friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him. He got back to us straight away with travel help. The bed was comfortable, the shower better than at home, and the accommodation warm and cosy. It was immaculately clean and decorated, and breakfast was ace. We were very happy to have chosen this place to stay in Ghent.

It’s so unique and truly beautiful both inside and out! On top of that, Sven is an incredible host, very friendly, chilled but great energy and sense of humour. He made me feel very comfortable. Speaking of comfort, the bed was insanely comfortable and the room was perfect, as was the location. Clean, spacious and every amenity needed which were all bespoke and great quality! The breakfast was superb, authentic and cooked and prepared with care and respect! I couldn’t recommend this more or speak more highly, it’s one of my favourite and most pleasant stays I’ve had on Booking.com or AirBnB - Incredible ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️

It was very well located and warm, the breakfasts were great and I also liked being greeted by ducks and coots outside my porthole window.

Captain Sven was very friendly and helpful, upon arrival providing us with a town map pinpointing all the interesting locations in Ghent. I am also grateful to him for letting me know of the existence of the Ghent LEZ, as the Boatel sits inside it (and he gave me instructions on how to register the vehicle online, and also what car park to use nearest to the Boatel as there is no on-street parking available - a small price to pay given the Boatel's central location!). The room was very nice, deceptively spacious considering we're in a converted river barge. It was amazing having the local wildlife (coots, ducks, crested grebes) hanging about so close to our windows! Breakfast was really nice, too!
