Grand Coastal Hotel looks as good as the pictures and more. We had a beautiful room, and loved using the pool. The food was exceptional and by far the best we had in Guyana. We did not need to leave the accommodation for our entire stay as a result, which can be nice after the busyness and intensity of Georgetown. The manager was quick to respond to any issues we had, and allowed us to stay late using the pool before we left, which we greatly appreciated.

The property is well located for getting in and out of Georgetown but does require a vehicle or taxis. The property has been renovated and was actually improved since a visit a few months ago. Nice touches in the rooms - water, chocolate, a white noise machine etc. the menu also has been updated and though very expensive is a lot more varied. The Sunday brunch is also expensive at 6000 but has a much better selection than other venues, with a more cohesive menu. I felt like I had a meal rather than a real mix of little things

The location of GCH is good for two malls and Ogle airport. Most staff were friendly and helpful. From Das who greeted us on the first night and catered to our every whim, to Cheryl who took care of our food needs and Troy who ensured that we had an early service of breakfast before we left on a trip. The layout of the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are large and clean. The food is well prepared and varied- please try the Bunjal shrimp! Highlight was an excellent massage by Liz in the Spa.
