The apartment is compact but beautifully designed and located right in the heart of the old town. All of the city's main attractions are just a few steps away, making it a very convenient choice for exploring. However, being in the historic center of Genoa, where the buildings are densely packed and close together, natural sunlight doesn’t easily reach the apartment.

U Genoa doesn't have a reception, a member of staff asked me about my arrival time which was late in the evening and he waited for us at the property to hand me the keys. Very friendly and helpful, also made excellent restaurant suggestions for the next day. There is a focaccia place hardly 50m from the hotel, Focaccia e Dintorni, which is a must visit. I was told they have the best focaccia in Genoa and was not disappointed - we visited it for breakfast as well as lunch! Another must visit is Pestobene, hardly 20 m from the hotel, and has the best pesto I have ever tasted.

Fantastic location. Quiet apartment despite being in a busy area. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Lift up to all floors. Very helpful friendly staff. We were able to leave our luggage as we arrived in Genoa early and left late at the end of our trip. Very handy minimarket around the corner as well as the best pesto shop in the City.

We really liked our stay at U Genova, because the location was perfect - in the centre, very close to the train station. The apartment was large, clean, had all the needed equipement and they stored our luggage before check-in and after check-out, which was very kind. I can only recommend it 😀
