A large quirky establishment, full of character. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Very close to cruise terminal and the shuttle we were offered was excellent. Complimentary cocktails went down well on arrival and the breakfast was excellent.

We stayed in the Hitchcock Suite, said to have inspired Alfred Hitchcock while writing “the birds”. The property is beautiful, the room well equipped and comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive. The location of the property is only a short walking distance from The Strand shopping and dining hotspot in a quiet neighbourhood full of beautiful properties. Free parking is available in the street.

Beautiful building. Fab location for town (bars, music, shopping and restaurants) and cruise terminal. Staff made me feel like a “rock star” nothing was too much trouble. Transfer, parking and golf buggy hire available. Enjoyed cheese and drinks gathering in the parlour. This was perfect as most of the people staying at the property were on my cruise the next day and it was good to meet them. Rooms traditional, spacious and clean. Breakfast perfect. Excellent value for money. Would stay again. Thank you.

Grand old house, lots of kookie features.. we really enjoyed our stay, all the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was amazing.. delicious!

The Mansion on 17th itself is absolutely beautiful but the customer service level is what makes the hotel shine. We travelled throughout Texas on a leisure trip from the UK and by far the Mansion was the best place we visited. The level of hospitality is second to none, the breakfast was great and the location is fantastic. We wished we had more days in Galveston but for the hotel alone we will definitely be coming back. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning house. Aaron was a wonderful host, couldn't do enough to make our stay better. We had a wonderful afternoon for happy hour and thoroughly enjoyed the stories he told us about the house and the history of Galveston. Just wish we could stay longer.
