A lovely hotel, full of charm,with helpful ladies on reception and at breakfast. But beware of the location and the hazards... The road is a bit daunting,so you need to be careful when approaching the hotel. A taxi actually came up the wrong way on the one way street as we were leaving the hotel, nearly hitting us.

This is (probably)the nicest hotel in Funchal . The views are stunning, the bedroom warm with nice furniture and subtle lighting. The bathroom comes with a shower and a bath, which is perfect after a long hike!Breakfast with hot food and vegan options is the perfect way to start the day. Free,secure parking and 24-hour desk,with friendly staff.

Perfect location, close to cable car, close to Monte Palace. Nice view from balcony, hotel has a pretty and large garden, very good breakfast.

Loved the location with great views, right next to the teleferico. There are lots of good places to sit out, and the rooms are spacious. Staff were super nice, and the breakfast was great. The free welcome drink was a nice touch.

The property was full of charm as it was once an art collectors house. It was surrounded by a beautiful well maintained garden with great views looking down to Funchal. Only 5 minutes from the cable car and accessible to local buses. It was the staff who made it so special for us as they were fantastic.

Loacted in top of the hill ower Funchal next to Tropical garden. Small steap streets could be a chalange if not use to drive such conditions. Enough activities around (Topical garden, wooden cart ride, cable car station next to hotel) but if plan to spend most of the time in city center not best location. Also keep in mind that if planning to go by foot then every trip will be up or down very steep hill.
