The fine print
Please note JAG Escape Franz Alpine Retreat is located 5 km outside of the nearest town. There are no shops or public transport services nearby and the road in to the town is not suitable for pedestrians. It is also therefore not suitable for guests travelling via bus.Please note that when you are booking for more than 2 people in the One-Bedroom Chalet, you will be provided with an additional bedroom. Please specify if you would like 2 double beds or 1 double bed and 2 single beds, using the special request box or contacting the property using the contact details found on the booking confirmation.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

Really comfortable unit which suited us perfectly for 3 nights. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The site manager was lovely and friendly and helped me when I couldn't work out the TV. We really enjoyed our stay. The helicopter flight over the glaciers was definitely a highlight.

Location was out of town. On main road but couldn't hear road traffic once inside.

Everything was clean and comfortable. Good location but not best location (best location would be directly in Franz Josef or Fox Glacier). Nonetheless it’s only a few minutes away but you need a vehicle. Quiet for a motel. Private entrance : you don’t have to pass in front of other rooms when you enter your room. Microwave and others to fix your own food and breakfast. I would definitely come back.

The accommodation was sufficient and comfortable for one night but was a bit basic, especially the kitchen with only a set of 4 of all utensils.
