“Great location, fantastic views and animal sightings in the wild”

Fantastic location central in the town but feels like you’re in the jungle. We saw so many animals and were treated to see toucans every morning at breakfast. The balcony and views were amazing a really nice place to relax and explore. I would highly recommend.

“Absolute Jewel in La Fortuna ♡”

The Hotel is small and quiet at the very end of La Fortuna, next to the forest so when you eat your breakfast you can observe the rich variety of birds right next to you. Even Tucans come sometimes :) The rooms are new, spacious, clean, ours had a big balcony. But absolute best about this place are the hosts - Angela and Armando! They are super friendly and caring. Armando offered to show us around their garden at night to see frogs and lizards and it was fantastic. You can also go with him for a bigger tour (you have to pay additionally of course) to watch sloths and other animals in their natural habitats, he knows well where to find them. Overall the experience was great! Also very good restaurants are in the walking distance from the hotel. Thank you Angela and Armando for your hospitality, you gave us fantastic memories! Pura Vida!

Exceptional! The rooms are new, very clean and fully equipped. They have a nice balcony and a nice view (when it is not cloudy). We saw toucans right at the hotel. The hotel is situated very close to a bunch of very good restaurants. The host and her husband were extremely nice and welcoming. We absolutely adored our stay.

We spent 5 weeks travelling around Costa Rica and this hotels owners; Angela and Armando were the kindest, most generous and hospitable hosts that we encountered. Staying at Arenal Monaro went well beyond our expectations. We stayed for 5 nights and the views, the room, the service, the night walk and sloth tour were all sensational!

It is the best accommodation we’ve had in Costa Rica so far. Everything’s just perfect. Starting with the room which was clean and had all you need. In addition to that, you’re close to the centre. you have a choice of different options for breakfast. Angela and Armando are super nice helping you out with everything. We can highly recommend you to do the Sloth Tour and the Night Walk through their own garden. We also spotted two Tucans and a Kolibri during the day. Thank you for having us!

Armando and Angela were incredible. This has to be one of my favourite places to stay. The bed was comfortable, amazing views of the volcano from the balcony and incredible complimentary coffee. Armando's night tour was brilliant as well as his sloth tour. The breakfast at the sister hotel was lovely with beautiful views of the volcano and bird watching. I will definitely return! Thank you

Very nice modern room in a good location. Hosts Angela and Armando went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay- definitely recommend doing a sloth tour with Armando (as well as walk around the garden to see frogs).

Anglela and Armando are GREAT hosts. Armando also offers a guided night walk around the property where we spotted snakes and frogs. The view of Arenal Volcano from the balcony is PERFECT.

A modern and beautiful hotel room with a great view of the volcano from the balcony. The owners were friendly and Armando’s free night tour around the premises to see frogs and other nocturnal animals is a must. His ability to spot animals is amazing! Breakfast is additional but you should do it at least once. The food is good but eating in the restaurant with the volcano in the background and birds visiting is magical. I would definitely stay again.
