Very good value for money hotel. The staff is impeccable, especially Luiz and John will ensure that you have a good time and can arrange a variety of tours for you. The views from the bar area are also stunning. Room itself was spacious, maybe a bit outdated and lacking some natural light. The lighting itself is a bit harsh (blue hue light instead of warm lichting) but overall the room was comfortable.

The rooms are simple but clean, spacious, and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff was truly exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. They even provided us with a cooking appliance so we could prepare food for our child, which we really appreciated. In the evening, one of the staff members went out of his way to help us spot some beautiful frogs, making our stay even more special.

Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast…..and bird sighting at the same time! Room…large with comfortable bed. Shower good. Bit dated but very clean. Short 5 minute walk to town centre…..restaurants, shopping, etc…..but property very quiet. We had a very good stay.

The level of service and helpfulness was exceptional. José was always extremely helpful, friendly and ready to assist for whatever we needed. Also, the location is great, within a few minutes walk to the town center. And a special shoutout to Armando, who is the best wilderness guide ever!

We loved Hotel Xilopalo! It is set right in the jungle, but within walking distance to the hub of the town. Staff were absolutely fantastic in every way! Jose gave us a warm greeting upon arrival and gave us a personal tour pointing out all of the amenities before bringing us to our room. The rooms are large with a natural wood design and very reasonably priced. In the morning, we had coffee and breakfast surrounded by many types of birds and a beautiful view of the volcano. We did a night walk on the property as well as a sloth tour with Armando. We couldn't have asked for a better tour - we saw lizards, frogs, toucans, and several sloths. We would absolutely visit again!

Beautiful house and rooms, nice common area, magnificent restaurant with view of the volcano and a huge variety of birds to watch. Staff is very friendly and mindful.

Great stay. Big clean room. Very nice. They have a garden with birds who can be a bit loud in the morning. Nice Pool Area and nice on the outside of the town but walking distance from the bus stops/central City. Little oasis with very friendly and helpfull staff.

We loved our stay at Arsenal Xilopalo. The setting was beautiful, the staff were both friendly and fun, and we were fortunate to have a peak at some wildlife in the trees surrounding the hotel.
