Guest houses Overview

This 16th-century farmhouse offers panoramic views across the Douro River. The owners provide a more personal service, including welcome drinks of homemade port and organising sit-down dinners with other guests.
Antique furnishings feature in every room at Quinta Da Azenha. Each of the air-conditioned guest rooms has a private en suite bathroom.
Breakfast is served in the farmhouse's kitchen, which has a traditional firewood oven and fireplace. A long dining table lets all guests sit together and talk of their travels whilst enjoying traditional homemade Portuguese meals.
Guests can try some 90-year old port in the farm’s cellar or play a game of billiards in the entertainment room. It is also possible to relax in the living room and watch some TV.
Quinta Da Azenha is situated 15 km from Régua and a 20-minute drive from Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport. Free on-site parking is provided.

The host Damiao was very friendly, the room was very quiet with a lovely view over the small village and Douro river and the breakfast was great. The location is perfect, with easy access to the wine estates and to Pinhao for the boat cruise, and walking distance to some restaurants. Great swimming pool.

You are staying in the very comfortable family home of Damaio and his family, a house filled with family treasures. Nestled in the vineyard, our good-sized rooms at Quinta da Azenha offered stunning views across the River Duoro to Covenilhas. We had comfortable beds, air con and a fridge in out rooms. Damaio was very helpful and speaks a number of languages. Breakfast was generous and delicious, served on the terrace. The pool was great and the views are fabulous. We loved meeting Damaio parents, his mother is an amazing woman. We bought some of the Quinta's delicious port before we left. Fogosa is a great location for visiting Peso de Regua for river crusies and wine tasting. Taxis are easy to find, we used Antonio +351 913 998 027 who spoke excellent English and knew lots of good places to visit.

Everything... a farmhouse, with only the necessary modernities, leaving “that smell” of nostalgia Very well received on arrival with a glass of Port in the cellar

Located in a very small town but convenient to much of Douro Valley. Lovely small inn with a very nice host. He showed us his Port cellar and gave free tastes

Fantastic location for exploring the Duro Valley. Faboulous views. Nice swimming pool. Very clean everywhere. Excellent breakfast and plenty of it. Very kind hosts.

This is our fourth visit to this well located quinta and, having booked late, could not get the full week we would have liked. Thank you Damiao and Luisa for your wonderful hospitality and breakfast, and we hope next time to book well enough in advance and come for a full week.

Lovely stay. It was hot so the pool was very refreshing. We were greeted by our host, they were very friendly. The homemade, fresh breakfast was very good, The views over the river were beautiful. Would love to come back.

We absolutely loved the property, it is gorgeous and the nicest place we have stayed in this trip. The house is in an elevated and very quiet location in town with beautiful views of the river. We had an ensuite room which had its own little terrace with steps leading up to the pool, it was perfect. Our host was wonderful and so very helpful. Breakfasts were absolutely fantastic with so much on offer, the omelettes were amazing and so delicious. We just wished we had been able to stay longer and hope to return one day 🥰
