A large room that has a nice and authentic decorations. The terrasse has a beautiful view of the mountains and the city.

A stunning building with beautiful rooms. We were given an upgrade and stayed in an exceptional mini suite. The breakfast was fantastic and even though we had to leave early on the last day we were given an early breakfast which was a real surprise

We were given a place to put our bikes off the street. The breakfast was good. On the last day we had to leave before breakfast, so they gave us a packed breakfast the night before.

Twin brothers, Omar and Othmane, decided on a career change and returned to their home town to open the Riad Grand Alcazar with a family member. They are both very astute in a business sense but they also understand the nature of hospitality. Riads are NOT hotels and should be your 'home from home' when in Morocco. This is exactly what the brothers have achieved and the Alcazar is perfect. You can pay more and get a more 'luxe' set up but really it is all about the welcome. The Alcazar is very keenly priced and if you want a premium welcome and very comfortable stay without paying premium prices, you MUST choose to stay here. The rooms are well appointed and the beds comfortable, the breakfast was quite delicious and the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Special mention to Yussuf (the night manager) who gave us amazing recommendations and helped with our car hire return (tricky!).

Wow! Why would you stay anywhere else? Gorgeous riad, kind staff, filling varied breakfast, good location in the medina, comfy, swimming pool ( must in the summer!). Definitely a place to return to. 10/10!

Everything was absolutely perfect. The place was amazing, the breakfast was very complete, and the staff was super friendly, especially Youssef that helped us with everything; from the restaurants, to the great guided tour around Fez. If you want a genuine experience go there! They are the best.

Overall the hotel is pleasant but let down by its staff and lack of organisation. The highlight about this hotel is the location. The location is perfect, it is easy to find and only a two minute walk from the main square of Fontaine Batha where taxis can drop you off. The hotel is in the medina and near to all the main sights, everything is roughly a 10 minute walk which is great! Rooms are good, exceptionally comfortable beds, great hot water and water pressure. I would say that whilst the rooms are very atmospheric and historic, cleaning of the floor tiles and the bathroom sink area could be improved - if you walk barefoot in the room your feet pick up quite a lot of dust and in the sink area there were quite a few old soap marks. These are just little things, overall the rooms were very comfortable. I was even offered a room upgrade during my stay was a nice surprise. The hotel also offers a great day trip to Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, Volubilis and Meknes which was easy to organise - definitely recommend doing this, the scenery and landscapes around Fes and Meknes is stunning.

The actual Riad is just stunning. The building interior is exquisite, like building art internally. Youssef the manager dude was great. Anything we needed, he was there to facilitate and he’ll with. Lovely balcony for sunset terrace. Fes was a maze of madness, so getting back into the Riad was like a welcoming cool and safe place.
