I have stayed at Stella De’ Tolomei and loved it. It has great character, a building in the mediaeval quarter of Ferrara, with very pleasant bedroom, indoor seating area, kitchen opening on to outdoor terrace in an interior square. Comfortable, warm (I was staying in mid December and it was cold outside), good WiFi and decorated for Christmas. I arrived late at night after flight delay, but Francesca made arrival arrangements as easy as possible. In addition to being characterful property inside and out, location is great - close to via Mazzini (shops), Palazzo Paradiso, il duomo, cinema (Apollo), restaurants and bars.

You won't find a better place to stay in Ferrara or possibly all of Italy! Right in the heart of historical Ferrara, I wish we had stayed longer. Contact the host to arrange parking if needed, you need a permit to drive into the historical part of town but it was quick and easy to arrange. We took advice on restaurants and other local advice, all superb.
