I've never stayed in a hostel/hotel before. I started work in B.C and booked a tent site down the road. The payment system they had made it difficult to continue staying there. I needed a decent, affordable place to stay and fast. the Elk Adventure lodge was the only place under the 60$ a nite range so I booked it for the rest of my 2 week stay. I got a pod room which is on the hostel side of the hotel. it was very neat to see. It was like staying in a fort that my daughter and I make at home. the place was very clean. Cleaner than I expected that's for sure. 4 woman's showers and shared washroom. Staff was very Friendly and polite. I enjoyed the family game room, theater room, and open shared kitchen. was like being at home. There is a lounge connected to the place as well and it was still nice and quiet even with other people in the room. the respect was shared amongst strangers so others could sleep.

The pods are well designed. With lights at the head and entrance of the pods. Plug ins near an area which is lockable with a slot to pass cords through. Two hangers inside as well. Also included was a small fan which was great.

Nice hostel in downtown Fernie. 1 stair down you can drink a great local beer on the terrace. Very friendly staff.

There were four of us on motorcycles. The staff were very accommodating and helpful with adapting to changes of our numbers dropping from four, to three during the free cancellation period, then back to four on our day of arrival, so we were very appreciative. They helped store our riding gear and provided excellent advice for dining options downtown. Then, when one of us could not access the upper pod berth that was reserved, they switched the individual to a lower bunk in an adjacent "dormitory", as a result of a cancellation.
