The room and bed were very comfortable. Good to have a proper coffee machine in the room. Staff at reception were extremely friendly and helpful. Nice touch of having small cakes for guests to help themselves to. The meals at dinner we chose were very good, and there was plenty of choice. Breakfast set us up for our day ahead of walking, there was a very good choice of dishes on the menu. My only complaint being that the cooked breakfast was very large and too big for me to finish!

Lovely property, lovely pub, and lovely breakfast! Great choice of breakfast items and cooked well. Other tables were asked if they wanted hot drink top ups but we had to ask as they weren't offered. Room could have been cleaner due to dust build up and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Plus it had only been set up for one person, so only one bottle of water, one set of towels so had to ask for extra. The second day we returned to the room having been turned over but left unlocked with our belongings inside. There were additional bottles of water and coffee bags this time, but no shower floor towel. So a bit hit and miss on the room which would have brought the score up if dust free and niggly things didn't occur.

The Tempest is a fantastic place to visit and stay set in the beautiful countryside with views to die for.The food in the restaurant is excellent value for money. I would certainly recommend it and we will return.
