The Spice Lodge was one of our favourite places that we’ve stayed in in Sri Lanka. The staff was so so friendly, helpful and wanted to do everything to make it as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms were clean and very spacious. And the view… absolutely perfect and so relaxing!

This was a lovely location, away from the Crazyness of the main town in Ella, very tranquil with lovely views! I would recommend ordering the home cooked curry from Kamal for dinner, he needs a couple of hours to prepare but it’s so worth it! Delicious home cooked curry!

From the moment we where picked up from the train station to the moment we left Kamal couldn't do enough for us. We had a cookery class with mom and sister amazing food was cooked and duly eaten. The food we had in our last night with our neighbour Frankie was to die for breakfast so tasty. A lively little retreat with lively room and a view to die for.

Spice Lodge has a great view and is located at the beginning of Little Adams Peak. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

It is on the way to Little Adams Peak so we were there in like 20 minutes. Same for the Nine Arches Bridge just the opposite direction. It is also a very nice walk to the Ella center (about 15 min walk on the Main Street but along all the little local houses and nature). The location is really TOP! The owner picked us up on the train station, took us to the Diyaluma waterfalls and his family made us every day THE BEST Sri Lankan breakfast!!! The pancakes were so delicious and rotti or hopper, dal and much more. We met the whole family, sang songs with his little son and it was overall an amazing and very local experience. The place is very stylish with huge windows in the front so see the jungle directly from the bed. Everything is hand made so therefore the shower doesn’t have much pressure (as some people mentioned). Also the jungle makes the place a bit dump so if you catch a storm on Ella Rock like us, your wet stuff won’t dry there. But there is also a hairdryer and a fan:)

The family are very sweet and kind, you can see they really want to make a nice place. Breakfast and the cooking class were lovely with Mamma and her sister. Location is great for the zip line and little Adam’s peak.

The spice lodge was one of our best accommodations in Sri Lanka! It’s right next to the hiking trail that goes to the little adams peak (perfect for going there by sunrise)!! This accommodation is owned by the kindest family! After our arrival we were immediately greeted with tea, cookies and bananas. The breakfast was a 10/10 and also the cooking class (supervised by the mom and daughter) was an incredible experience! We’ll definitely come back to this place when we’re Sri Lanka! Thank you

Amazing view to wake up to in the morning with breakfast on the terrace. It’s a small establishment with only two rooms so very peaceful and quiet, away from the main strip It’s conveniently located near Little Adam’s peak and the nine arch bridge but only 15 min from the center!
