The views from Rainbow Sky Cottage are stunning and the beds are very comfortable. It’s also right next to the train tracks which you can walk along to reach central Ella or Ella rock. Either way, it’s a beautiful walk and returning to the cottage makes you realise how lovely it is to stay outside the hustle and bustle of the centre. We also found a little cooking school 1 min walk from the residence called Bees Honey which i’d highly recommend. The best thing about Rainbow Sky Cottage is the people that run it. The mother of the family cooks the most delicious food (the best breakfast we had throughout our trip! I’ll never forget those delicious coconut jaggery pancakes). And the rest of the family are so helpful with providing tuk tuk rides to the main road, or helping with the bags. 100% recommend.

The rooms were very comfortable and plenty of pillows and bedding. The traditional breakfast with Hoppers was amazing, so much food! The view and surrounding areas were amazing. Fantastic birding and wildlife. Our host arranged tuk tuk and taxis with ease. Ella is a tourist hub if your looking for local food as around. Brilliant bakery in town to stock up.

This place is simply breathtaking. It is located a 10min drive from Ella center so you are close but will stay in a calm spot. The people running this hotel are very kind and will help you where they can. We felt very welcome and enjoyed every moment. The breakfast was more than enough and very tasty. We did a tuk tuk tour with one of the employees (Praveen) to discover the area and we had one of the best days of our holidays! 100% recommend this place!

All was excellent! The location (quiet as we wanted it) just 20 minutes walking from the main center with beautiful views to the sunrise and Ella rock. Comfortable rooms with all that we needed. Quick access to water and drinks. Beautiful smiling people there to help with anything we needed, from transfers and tours to food and drinks. We will be back for sure!

The owners were extremely friendly, the breakfasts excellent and rooms very comfortable. As a home stay it stood out for having a good hot water shower, a fridge and safe. It is located out of Ella, with about a 20 minute walk to town but the views are lovely, it’s quiet and cool, and we felt comfortable sleeping with open windows. Loved our stay here.

We loved this homestay. The family are very welcoming and attentive and the view from our balcony was brilliant. We wanted a quieter place to stay and we definitely got that - its a 25 minute walk to the centre of Ella along the train tracks which is a beautiful walk. It also meant we were closer to restaurants that did amazing food and were less busy. If you stay here we would recommend trying the cooking class at bees honey which is on the way down to the train tracks. Some reviews have criticised the school music playing but this was never an issue for us. The son can do a transfer from Ella station which we would recommend as it makes the journey a lot easier. A big thank you to our hosts for giving us an amazing experience in Ella.

The view was amazing. Being able to walk down to the train tracks and walk into town was great. It was so nice and quiet. Ella is busy and full of tourists, so we were relieved to have been staying somewhere so quiet. The rooms were big and comfy and very clean.
