The view from our room was a solid 10/10 — watching the sunrise from there was absolutely magical. The location is great too, just a short distance from Ella town, which made getting around super easy. The hotel staff were really helpful and even assisted us in renting a scooter, which made exploring the area even better.

The staff are really nice and friendly. Very welcoming. It is a basic hotel but such a fantastic location and the pool is good. Slept very well on super comfy bed..with the sound of the waterfall adding to the tranquility. Breakfast was good too.

Summary: To be honest, my initial thought when I arrived was that I’d made a mistake in booking this place. But as the stay continued I was overall very happy :) . The owners seem to be continuously working on improving the place, so it’s a bit of an odd mix of some very nice modern areas with some bits that need renovation (eg flooring). Overall the areas that matter to me (bed, AC, pool area, service) were very good and given the price point I can overlook the bits that need work. I also think this place will improve rapidly given the work going on. ————- We arrived quite late at night and the entrance is a bit odd - just a handwritten cardboard sign and a very steep driveway. Someone was outside and offered to take our bags but with no uniform or anything I wasn’t sure if they actually worked for the hotel so declined - we have been targeted by a lot of scams during our travels. Improved signage and a uniform (just a polo shirt with a logo) for staff would be helpful to provide some legitimacy when arriving. Many previous reviews mention lots of steps - they have since installed an elevator (though this is after the steep driveway you must walk up). Upon going up to the reception level you are greeted with plain concrete floors and some construction materials in the hallway (see photo) so it felt a bit run down at first. The Room: ——————- :) Very comfy four poster bed with mosquito net surrounding it. Air conditioning very good - though adjusting temperature or fan speed didn’t do anything so it was either off or on full power. Balcony with comfy chairs and INCREDIBLE views of the hills. Nice bathroom to use, good shower. :( About 5 very large concrete steps to walk down into the room, with the bathroom entrance on these steps. Rest of the flooring was wooden with some recesses between each plank - these were filled with dust/debris so a more thorough clean here would be nice, or ideally new flooring.

Misty Hills is about 5 minutes in a tuktuk from Ella city. Stunning views and really convenient to see the main sights around Ella. The resort is slightly outdated, however it was clear they are modernising many of the rooms. They also have a lift, so although there are many steps there is also a lift (which I wonder if it was there before some of the previous reviews which have been written). The room we had does however have steep stairs to get into the room - not great having to climb them during the night to get to the toilet! Room was relatively clean - although towels are rather old and toilet would smell unless housekeeping came in each day. Staff are truly wonderful, kind and extremely caring. They couldn’t do enough to help! Overall, Misty Hills Resort is good for a short stay, it is a great base for exploring Ella. You get what you pay for. The views are stunning and the poll is a lovely area to chill after a busy day. The elephant water feature is mesmerising!!

Loved this place from the moment I arrived. I received a warm welcome from the team. The views from the hotel were great and the swimming was nice and clean. They helped arrange transport which I ended up using the driver again- always best to go direct with the driver as the hotels take a cut.

The location and the view are very good, the staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast had many options and was tasty.

We’ve booked the resort last minute as we had an issue with the hotel we initially booked (not clean). The staff were very warm and welcoming and even offered us to choose between 2 rooms. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the best part was waking up with a breathtaking view over the mountains!

The staff were amazing, so kind and friendly. The view Is one of the best views I’ve seen from a hotel as good valued as this. Lovely breakfast and amazing home cooked dinner! Cannot thank all the staff enough for making our stay lovely. 10/10 recommend

Wonderful renovated deluxe room with fantastic views. Lovely attentive staff and the very welcoming Udǣsana, I hope that's how I spell the name. She is doing a great job. Enjoyed the pool and the attention to detail.
