The hillside setting in Ella was incredible and the large terrace and views from our room were stunning. The breakfast was incredible and the service was excellent as was the comfort level. Thank you! They even raced down to the train station with my hat which I'd left in our room, before we hopped on the train to Kandy. Incredible effort!

Cannot recommend this accommodation enough. It is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Communication prior to and during our stay was excellent. We stayed in the chalet which was beautifully presented and decorated. The pool was a bonus for cooling off post hike. The staff were incredible - friendly, helpful and nothing was too much. The tuk service into town was super convenient. The location was perfect - close to town but felt like a world away. The cooking class we did with the chef was a highlight - definitely recommend this during a stay. His breakfasts were also a delicious start to the day. The staff also took us on a tuk tour to secret waterfall and to a nearby temple - as I said, nothing was too much!

Dear arawa staff, it is hard to describe the wonderful experience you gave us and our kids the past two days. There is just so much to be grateful for that it was almost hard to take it all in. The wonderful rooms, so delicately decorated with 100 little details and so much privacy, the cooking workshop that my eldest son will remember the rest of his life, the way you answered every crazy request we had from headaches, to hairdressers and ice cubes, the wonderful environment in nature that kept us there instead of visiting Ella, because it was so much better. But foremost the incredible staff. So wonderful, warm, cheerful. Going above and beyond. Never in my life we have experienced something like that. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. We are sad to leave you, but we will send over all of our friends when they visit Sri Lanka. And hopefully we can meet again one day. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

This place is amazing. Outstanding location and service. The location felt like you were a world away but it was a short few minutes tuk tuk ride to Ella. The breakfasts were the best we have had. The staff went out of their way. I would highly recommend this place. The two dogs were so beautiful and affectionate but not in your space unless asked. Treat yourself and stay here!

the staff were amazing! so kind and attentive. the manager is also very responsive and helpful on whatsapp for anything that you need throughout your stay. the breakfast was amazing and such good value being included in the room cost. location is great away from the craziness of Ella Town but easily accessible. also it's great the hotel offers a free tuk tuk to town and back!

Unique experience at Arawe retreat! Would really recommend staying here for at least two nights and enjoy the cooking class they offer. It’s the best.

I honestly cannot recommend this place enough- we had the most WONDERFUL stay! This is the 5th hotel we've stayed at while travelling around Sri Lanka and was by far our favourite. It's very close to Ella train station and town yet somehow also feels very remote and peaceful. Beds are super comfortable and the cottage is a perfect blend of rustic but with modern comforts. The shower is a particular delight! The staff are absolutely lovely, super friendly and welcoming. We also did a cooking class with the chef which was arranged on short notice without a problem and was SO fun and interesting!! You cook in a beautiful outside kitchen with a lovely view so I highly recommend doing that! They also offer a complimentary TukTuk shuttle to/from the station and the town and are available on WhatsApp to assist whenever you need anything. My friend got a leech stuck on her foot one evening and one of the lovely staff members immediately sorted it with no problem and checked on her in the morning (all fine, they're not at all dangerous) There are two German Shepherds on the property which are extremely gentle and friendly and not noisy or aggressive at all. Was lovely to have some pet dogs around! If you're considering booking this place do it! You won't regret it!

This property is simply magical. Although it is a bit of a splurge, it’s definitely worth it. The retreat is super peaceful and the decor is lovely. Breakfast was great. Staff is super friendly. Location is also amazing, within a 5-10min walk from all the restaurants. We definitely recommend staying here!

Our room was lovely. Very nicely decorated. Really unusual. The L-shaped deck was large with a choice of comfortable seating. It overlooked the trees and paddy fields and felt really remote though we were only a 15 minute walk from the centre of town. I particularly enjoyed sitting on deck in the morning and watching the incredible variety of birds in the trees. Breakfast was excellent, cooked in front of us in the kitchen area downstairs. This was a memorable stay. Thank you to all the wonderful team.
