A surcharge of GBP 10 per hour applies for arrivals after 22.30. All requests for late arrival are subject to confirmation by the property. A cash security deposit of GBP 250 is required on arrival for stag and hen parties. This deposit is fully refundable upon check-out and subject to a damage inspection of the accommodation. Children can be accommodated using existing beds, or if guests provide their own bedding. The hotel cannot provide cots or cribs. Its a great price for Edinburgh! It is a clean and comfortable room with a kettle/ tea and coffee. The building is a little old outside and the inside needs an update. There was cigarette butts near front. However this was not too offensive as the premises were clean and the reception was very thorough and helpful with check-in also giving information about railway station and groceries nearby. I had a small problem with TV which was fixed promptly. Its across the road from Haymarket station which was so convenient as catching train next day. There's plenty of cafes etc close by. I would stay again as the price is not inflated like other places I've stayed in Edinburgh. Good value for sure.

The hotel is in a great location for accessing the tram or bus to the airport for early flights, and is competitively priced when doing so. The staff are very welcoming.

I stayed in the suite and enjoyed the view out the large windows. I was also allowed to leave my luggage and return for it later - even after I had checked out, a super helpful feature!

My friend and I had come to Edinburgh to go to see Joseph and we booked the guards hotel because it was right next to haymarket station. The staff were lovely when we arrived too early to check In we left out cases with hotel and went shopping then came back and the gentleman show us how to use the swipe key and even took our cases up the stair to Our room. Great view from room. My friend was delighted we had a bath as she likes a bath. Would visit again

Location of this hotel was perfect for our night in Edinburgh. It's right across the road from Haymarket Station. We booked the larger of the rooms (Windsor Castle) and it was indeed huge. Everything was very clean and bed was comfortable.
