The location was great. The staff at the reception were very nice, and I really liked the atmosphere. The 25% discount at their own cafeteria and the restaurant across the street was also a great idea. The lockers with a secure password system were another plus. If I come again, I would definitely choose this place again. Thanks to everyone.

Location in the heart of the city. 4 min walk for scot Monument, 10 to 15 minutes for Castle. Breakfast was good. And most importantly the staff was so kind and helpful

I had read a few negative reviews before going so I had very low expectations and the whole experience surprised me! It was the 1st time I stayed at a hostel and I stayed in a 6-bed-bedroom in a female dormitory that had curtains in the bed and I definetely recommend it if you want a bit of privacy. You probably won't have the best sleep of your life cause they'll be people going in and out of the bedroom, but the room was comfortable and cosy. The room had a bathroom, what was a nice surprise because I thought I had booked a room without it and it was very practical because the common bathrooms are only located in the 1st floor. The staff was nice and the reception is open at all times, what makes it easier if you need help. The location is definitely the best part about this hostel, couldn't be more perfect! It's 2 min away from the waverley bridge and 3/4 min away from the Scott monument, so it is super central, lots of places to eat too. Didn't use transports. Travelled solo in the end of November and so at 4 pm it was already dark, so it was very important to me to feel safe while walking at night and Edinburgh was the safest city I've travelled to so far and staying at such a central location helped. I catched a bus in the airport (airlink) and the bus stop was less than 5 min away from the hostel. I also took a daytrip to the Highlands and the meeting point was 6 minutes away from the hostel (although I had to climb a lot of steps). Another cool thing: I checked out at 8:30 am but only had to catch the bus to the airport around 12 pm, so I left my backpack in their locker room and it was free! They have small lockers but you have to take a padlock with you (you'll need one for your bedroom as well) and they have pin-coded ones in bigger sizes. Not sure if you have to pay for the bigger one, mine was medium. The locker room also has a mini kitchen where you have a kettle, a microwave, a fridge, a sink, plates and cutlery.

Great location near many attractions and in a peaceful and quiet part of town. Nice buffet breakfast. Friendly staff willing to help with any problem. The beds have curtains for privacy.

Our reserved room was exactly as shown in the pictures. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean. The location was simply perfect, with the airport shuttle bus stop just a 3-minute walk away, and all the sightseeing spots very close. The staff was helpful. Thank you :).
