The friendly and welcoming Gifford House has free on street parking and is about 1.25 miles south of Princes Street and on a main bus route to Edinburgh city centre.
Awarded a 4-star Gold Award by Visit Scotland, Gifford House is on the A7, but is quiet and peaceful to the rear. Rear bedrooms enjoy superb views towards Salisbury Crags and Arthur's Seat.
The rooms and compact bathrooms are of a high standard and have free Wi-Fi. Housekeeping is only done on the day of departure.
There are many golf courses close to Gifford House, and Holyrood Park is nearby.

We were greated by lovely Margret and felt welcome immediately. It's a very nice old house, our room was spacious and very clean. Very nice view over to Arthur's seat and great for some running. Also the town is in walking distance. Parking was easy in a calm street nearby. Oh, and some croissants, chocolate/muesli bars and fruit to take for breakfast - even though we had to leave very early. We will definitely come back next time we're in Edinburgh.

Good location about 20 mins walk or 5 mins Bus to the Royal Mile and close to Arthur’s Seat. Very friendly staff and comfortable large room.

Beautiful decorated room which was very clean. Friendly owners, willing to advice on nice places to visit. Lothian buses 30 and 33 (very frequent) get you directly to and from the royal mile and the rest of the city centre, although its also a nice stroll to the city. Near Arthur’s Seat for amazing views of Edinburgh and it’s surroundings.

The hostess was absolutely wonderful. She went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. The bed was super comfy, and we had a lovely view of Arthurs seat from our bedroom window.

Great friendly and helpful owners. Very clean and big property. Excellent location to get around Edinburgh with a bus service on the road. Beautiful views of Arthurs Seat from our room. The shower cubicle is large, room great size for two.
