(Full, existing members of Hostelling Scotland and HI using these channels are not entitled to a membership refund).Individual reservations (Up to 9 persons) - can cancel free of charge until 3 days before the arrival date. If cancelled within the 3 days before the arrival 100 percent of the total price will be charged.Groups reservations (more than 9 persons) - different policies and additional supplements will apply. More than 8 weeks (57 days or more) 20% of total cost. 8 – 4 weeks (56- 29 days) 55% of total cost. 4 – 0 weeks (28 - 0 day) 100% of total cost.No stag or hen parties are permitted at any youth hostel.Should guests be entitled to a refund or part refund please note that these are processed by Hostelling Scotland National Office, Stirling. It may take 7 to 10 working days from the date of cancellation request for the refund to be processed back onto the original card used.Parties with children under 12 years will only be accommodated in private rooms, where available. Hostelling Scotland advises that additional notice be given to the destination youth hostel when travelling with children, to ensure that suitable accommodation is available.There is no capacity for extra beds or cots.Check-in from 16:00 and check-out is until 10:00. Our Edinburgh Central Hostel does have a 24 hour reception. Please note that advance reservations are recommended for the restaurant to avoid disappointment. The entrance to the hostel was very inviting. There was always someone/more than one person behind reception to welcome you and the atmosphere was full of chatter with other guests staying there and enjoying the common room or caffe area. One day I forgot my cell phone on the couch and someone gave it in at reception, I was so happy to receive it back. We stayed at the top floor, so the view from the room was spectacular with each sunset and sunrise over the skyline as well as a view of the street ever so busy with travellers.

I found great the location of the hostel, super close to the Bus Station. Also, would like to highlight that my dad forgot his glasses, and they kept them safe until I called asking for them and helped to find a solution to reunite with the glasses.

Location, Reception Area and Cafe, Nothing was too much bother for the staff. One of the best Youth Hostels I've ever stayed in. The place was warm and very comfortable. Buses and Trams close by so easy access into the City. Downstairs Cafe area was nice place to chill, grab a drink and even some food. Excellent coffee by the way.
