John “A very adequate hotel”

First impressions from outside suggested a really run down property with broken windows which were tge result of hooligan vandalism. Entry from the car park gave a very different impression. Professional manageress with a fruendly and effeicient reception showing us to a modern, clean bedroom. Dinner in the bar was excellent, well presented and prepared. Breakfast the nrxt morning was a real disappointment. No cereals, coffee charged per cup, toast not offered etc. A better option would have been for the hotel to offer a more traditionl menu choice than the current more exotic offering. For example my wife chose poached eggs with smashed avocado pears which had been prepared with some form of mayonaise producing an unedible 'mush'.

Excellent value for money, well located, and exceptionally attentive pleasant and helpful staff, yes, the bedroom could’ve done with a little paint, but it did not affect the quality of stay at all and given the price per night, they are providing a real bargain!

I've been a regular for the last year since my friend, with whom I used to stay, died. Perfectly situated for bus services to all the local areas for lovers of the North East such as myself. Staff, without exception, friendly and helpful.

the manager was very helpful our room was poor TV wasn't working and when my girlfriend put her coffee on bedside table it fell off wall and nearly scolded her feet.. I went down to bar and she moved us straight away to a better bigger room...

It is in the middle of Chester-le-Street, so it is very close to the train station and the bus route. I have stayed here twice now and been very happy. The staff are lovely and helpful. I haven't tried the food yet as we spent a lot of time out of the hotel, but hope to on future visits.
